The Sculpting Lineage

Devendra Mishra’s grandfather was professed in the artistic work of sculpting statues, marble deities, and temple art along with modern art sculptures both for interior and exterior sculptures.

The sculpting journey that was started by his grandfather was taken forth by his father, Late Ram Ratan Mishra, who decided to add finesse to this art form and enrolled and graduated from J.J. College of Arts & M.S. University, Baroda. After returning back from his studies, he wholeheartedly delved into the family business of visualizing and creating life size statues with his father. Some of his commendable works include a live portrait of Late Prithviraj Kapoor and the former Soviet Union Russian Premier – Marshal Bulganin.

The Late Ram Ratan Mishra was blessed with four sons who were always desirous to learn the sculpting art of their forefathers. They would stick around the family workshop and try to hone their skills with statues & marble deities. But due to the sudden and untimely departure of their father the late Ram Ratan Mishra who left for his heavenly abode, the four brothers opened their individual works to broaden their horizons in the sculpting industry.
